UralShorts |

Short films are often debuts, first experiences in the industry. Sometimes even sketches. But these shorts show real pain, real passion, ambition and courage of the authors who are ready to conquer the world. The same can be said of major debuts — first independent feature-length films.
We believe that there are no barriers to the shorts and debuts — neither genre nor geographical. And talented authors should meet with like-minded people and gain public recognition.
A great place for such a powerful energy exchange is the Urals. The border between Europe and Asia.
Maybe you’ve heard that the local mountains have a magnetic effect?
The Urals has been attracting ambitious, creative and self-sufficient people for centuries.
Those for whom mountains are not an obstacle.
Those who create, no matter what.
SELECTION AND PRIZES
OFFICIAL SELECTION
Each season, all films submitted to the Ural Shorts are reviewed and evaluated by the Selection Committee, composed of representatives of the film and media community. The committee compiles the Official Selection for the Short Film Section, which is published on the festival website and social media platforms.

All selected films receive Official Selection laurels and become eligible for the season awards.
Awards of the Season
Within two weeks after the publication of the shortlist, the jury announces the season winners. The winners receive Winner laurels, a printable digital festival diploma (Certificate of Achievement), and an invitation to the annual awards ceremony.

A selection of the winning films is then curated for screening in cinemas and/or broadcast on television.
In the Feature Film Section, a yearly shortlist is selected. Alongside the winners of the four short film seasons, these films compete for the title of Annual Winner in their respective categories, as well as for the Grand Prix. Screenings and the Award Сeremony are held in Nizhny Tagil.

Annual winners receive the Ural Shorts Trophy and a diploma. The Grand Prix winner receives a trophy, a diploma, and a cash prize of 100,000 rubles.
